I hire PMs — bring your logs

I’m interviewing two PM candidates next week, and what wins me over is proof you can cash chips to keep a permit or consultant moving and that you maintain clean records — think a dated RFI log, change-order register, and a 3-week lookahead that ties to cash flow. If you’re job hunting, do you bring sample logs (scrubbed) to interviews, or is that overkill? I’m trying to set a consistent bar for Q4 hires.

Not overkill — I bring a one-page snapshot: a scrubbed, dated RFI log and a ‘3-week lookahead’ tied to cash flow with a tiny change-order register, and hand it over in print and on an iPad. It lands because they can see when I had to ‘cash chips’ to keep a permit or consultant moving, but I strip vendor names and rates to stay clear of NDAs.
