Keeping the schedule without burnout

On our Midtown civic center build, I’m blocking scope creep, mediating GC-MEP clashes, and monitoring the schedule “games” daily in Smartsheet, yet the 12-week critical path keeps wobbling. How are you holding teams to dates and resolving friction without turning stand-ups into a blame fest?

I fixed a similar 12-week wobble by shifting stand-ups to Last Planner ‘make-ready’: trades only commit to tasks that have cleared a shared constraint log in Smartsheet, and we track PPC with reason codes instead of blame. The visibility plus a 48-hour RFI rule cut the schedule ‘games’; I still keep the 12-week path, but drive it with a tight 5-day lookahead. Are you tracking PPC or reason codes yet?

, the schedule games drive me nuts — what’s helped me is a simple two‑handshake in Smartsheet: upstream marks “ready to release,” downstream marks “ready to start,” and only those tasks pull the path. To keep stand-ups from turning into a blame fest, we freeze the next 72 hours — ‘no move without a mitigation’ — and peel GC–MEP friction into a 10‑min huddle right after with just the supers. @mia1271 your constraint log idea pairs well with this; have you tried the handshake so dates don’t slide by default?
