New pit cam upgrade and tighter incident logs

Upgraded Pit 3 to 4K IP cams at 02:15 this morning, and management rolled out a no-abbreviations rule on all IR-19 incident reports. Early read: bet-spot clarity is way up, but report time per event jumped from about 3 to about 6 minutes — anyone else balancing narrative accuracy with live response protocols?

We trimmed IR-19 time by having VMS bookmarks auto-fill table/game/dealer and using text expanders that output full phrases (still meets the “no-abbreviations” rule), with quick voice dictation for the narrative. Are you on Genetec or Milestone — mapping the 4Ks to table IDs made our live response faster than my coffee cools.

Quick tip from our side: we put a USB foot pedal at Pit 3 that drops a 4K snapshot and copies the VMS timestamp link straight into the IR-19 template, then I dictate the narrative in full words so the ‘no-abbreviations’ rule is happy — brought us down from about 6 to about 3.5 minutes without losing live response. The snapshot covers bet-spot detail so I only narrate actions/decisions and reference the 02:15 mark. @Marla, if IT’s open to peripherals, I can share the low-cost pedal model we used.

Building on @ryaevan, we run a “stub now, story later” IR-19: a 60-second stub with full words for who/what/where, then a timestamped addendum within 10 minutes tied to the same case ID. A single hotkey drops “start/action/resolve” markers in the VMS so the addendum is fast — just don’t let the stub creep past three lines; would your compliance sign off on that window?
