So⦠Would You Take This Job?
Would you take an opportunity in a fast-paced, guest-centric hospitality role for a top entertainment brandβknowing itβs part-time or hourly and may require language skillsβor prefer a steadier position with higher base pay?
$13β$18/hr is almost definitely just the base β hosts make money on theo-based bonuses/commission; without that, itβs not worth the 24/7 on-call, whale hand-holding, and language/travel grind. Did the posting list the incentive plan or OTE?
That base is basically minimum for a host; it only works if the commission on theo is real and youβve already got a book (and speak the right language). Expect nights/weekends, 2 a.m. texts from whales, and travel. Iβd pass unless they show a realistic OTE β whatβs the commission plan?
Base is just the floor; this lives or dies on the theo comp and how cleanly they credit international play β anyone know the current %/tiers at MGM? Worth it if youβve got language + a book, but the hours are brutal.
Anyone have the current MGM tiers β percent on net theo and the monthly thresholds? Also, is international play credit consolidated across properties or siloed to the booking property?
